Banjul launch a state-of-the-art mini stadium

The Banjul sports Committee has opened the 9.8 million Dalasi state of the earth mini stadium of the rehabilitated KG5 Park on Saturday the 26th after successfully transforming the pitch from natural grass to artificial turf.

Turf is the third of its kind inaugurated in the country following others in Brikama and Manjai. The newly Banjul inaugurated  mini stadium is  regarded as the number one standard pitch in the whole  sub-region courtesy of  GAMWORKS who have made this possible.
GAMWORKS who are the sponsors of the Banjul Mini stadium were delighted to do the official opening by the Director General Mr. Ebrima Cham who handed over the rehabilitated mini stadium to Alhagie O B Conateh marking the official opening of the mini stadium. A series of matches were also organized in connection with the opening, Banjul Central played against Banjul North which ended 2.1 in favour of Banjul North while Banjul South defeated Tobacco Road by a similar margin.
Ebou Faye, the secretary of the Banjul sports Committee, expressed delight and happiness and said that this achievement shows the whole of Banjul their ambition in the development of sports in the city and hailed his committee members for a successful work done.
“The past five years and today is quite different in the football history of Banjul” said Ebou as a mark of appreciation of the significant achievement this newly elected executive has made.
Also speaking to journalists at the opening ceremony was Alhagie Sillah of the sports committee, who said that this was a dream come true as over the past years Banjul has lost its glory but now it has been restored  with this multi million sporting facility.
He also added that the mini stadium will also ease the burden on the limited number of football fields that are not enough for our football and now Banjul will be hosting matches over match as the field can take a capacity of more than 25 matches per day.
