Brikama Area Council Denies Alleged Financial Scam![]() BAC spokesperson Modou Jonga Wednesday, August 10, 2011 Brikama Area Council (BAC) has come under the microscope as yet another financial scam has been reportedly uncovered in which two staff lost their jobs. “This is news to me and I am not aware of any financial scam at the council,” BAC spokesperson Modou Jonga however said, denying the claims. But reliable sources close to the local administrative area said, the council has fired its Information Technology Officer, Mr Amadou Touray on suspicion of embezzlement of funds from the sale of land transfers. Our sources said further that, although Mr Touray had denied the allegations when confronted by the council’s management, he was nonetheless sacked because the management was convinced that he did diverted funds in the month of June of this year. In a separate development, Madeline Jones, a tax collector at the council was recently invited for questioning at Brikama police on suspicion of diverting over D320, 000.00 of the council’s fund to her personal bank account, according to our sources.
