Under their newly appointed head coach Sulayman Kuyateh, Brikama United has defeated US Ouakam 3-1 in the post-match penalty shot out, following one-all on aggregate in the Confederation of African Football club championship on Saturday in Dakar Senegal. The team’s last year’s leading goal scorer in The Gambia Football Association league one championship, Foday Trawally scored the only goal of the game for Brikama United to give them 1-1 on aggregate. Brikama lost one-nil in the first tie on their home soil, which leads to the dismissal of their former coach Ensa Sambou and his technical staff. Brikama United failed to score a goal on their ground in the first leg, but their forward Foday Trawally scored a crucial goal for his side and happened to win the game in the post-match penalty shot out. Brikama for first time made it to the next round of the competition. GFA’s 2011 league one champions has made some significant development. They are the first team away from the Greater Banjul Area to win the league one of The Gambia Football Association.
