Commit FC have been crowned champions in Fatoumata Printing Company sponsored Gunjur Youth and Sport Development Committee nooran tournament.

Gamcel and Commit FC met in the finals that witnessed a thrilling and goalless first half as both teams’ defenders were setting traps for any goal thirsty striker eager to fire in.
The second half was characterised by substitution of players by the coaches to end the deadlock.

As the field of play changed in the 71st minute, Alagie Darboe of Yaay Borom fired the back of the opponents’ net after from a nice pass from his team mate in the left flank of the field.

In not more than ten minutes later, Ebrima Jammeh also collected a powerful perpendicular crossed ball as header and sent it into the net of Yaay Borom as an equalizer. The match ended 1-1 draw.  As the hard goal scramble could not yield any possibility of an additional goal for a victory the two teams ended up going for a penalty shootout.

Commit‘s goalkeeper, Buba Sambou won his team the Nooran Championship of Gunjour as he saved 2 penalty shots.  Gamcel scored only 1 goal and Commit recorded 4 goals that made the scores 4-1.

The runner up Gamcel, Yaay Borom went home with 3,000 whilst Commit FC the champions received 4,000 plus a trophy enriching their records as second time championships the competition in Gunjur. They were the champions in 2010.
