Court Frees Man amid Lack of Sufficient EvidenceWednesday, August 08, 2012 One Lamin Jallow appeared before Magistrate Hilarary Abeke of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court charged with breaking into a building. According to the particulars of offence on or about 29 July 2012 at Brikama Jah Oil Petrol Station in Kombo Central, West Coast Region of the Republic of The Gambia, broke into the building of Jah Oil with intent to commit a felony there in with stealing . In his testimony, prosecutor couple 2294 Jammeh testified that the incident happened on the 19 July 2012 at Brikama Jah Oil Petrol Station when the accused went to the said petrol station, and found food in a basin,which he ate to his satisfaction and letter perform abolution . “The accused after performing abolution then advanced to the office house of Jah Oil Petrol Station. He found the padlock at the said office locked. The accused use a key and open the said padlock, entered the said office and started scattering the files with intent to steal,” he told the court. The prosecutor further told the court that Muhammeh Dem, fuel attendant at the said company was going to the bath room and when he heard a noise inside the office. He then draw the attention of his colleague by the name Lamin Keita before arresting and handing over the accused to the Brikama Police where his statements where obtained.However, the accused went home free as lack of sufficient evidence against him.
