Edward Anthony Gomez fitness centre, one of the oldest GYM in the country named after honorable minister of justice Edward Gomez under the banner of the Gambia Weightlifting and Body Building Association is set to stage a weightlifting competition slated for Saturday 28th January 2012 at the Fajikunda Red cross hall at 4pm.
 The competition however, is intended to attract all the registered weightlifting centers under the Gambia weightlifting and body building association and expected to be graced by the Hon. Minister of Justice Edward Gomez and other prominent sporting personalities in the country.
According to the president of the GYM centre Abdoulie Badjan, the association is on the verge of developing weight lifting in country and later called on public to come in their huge numbers to witness the competition. He finally used the opportunity to call on parastatals and stakeholders to come to their aid to sponsor the event.
