Eight Tennis Players to Leave for Dakar

Eight Gambian tennis players and a coach are expected to leave the Gambia for Dakar today morning by land to take part in the annual tennis tournament organised by the Senegalese Tennis federation, which will start on Saturday, 21st July.

The Gambia finally confirmed their participation to the annual tournament on Wednesday, following talks within the federation and eight players - 5 boys and 3 girls - were selected to participate in the tournament.  

There are two categories in the tournament - the 12 and under age category - which include Bakary Drammeh, Alagie Drammeh, Batch Jawara and one female player Binta Camara. The 14 and under category comprises Modou Sallah, EnsaSamateh, Fatou Joof, Amie Badjie and the head coach Lamin Drammeh alias Ken.

The Gambia will join the co-host Senegal and other African counterparts in Dakar, which will take part in the tournament. The event starts Saturday 21st and ends on the 29th of July.
