Unarguably, one of the most-watched GRTS TV programme, Fatou Show, marked its 4th anniversary in a grand style on Saturday at the Jaama Hall of Kairaba Beach Hotel.

The ceremony was  not only aimed at observing its inception, but also  to allow the audience to take stock of the show’s output and to suggest areas where improvement was  needed. A show that blended  societal puzzles, current affairs and entertainment,   had featured a number of inspiring Gambian and non-Gambian personalities, a wide

variety of issues ranging from health, sports and of course entertainment by distinguished Senegambian talents.

The musical extravaganza was opened by the Wolof cultural group of Sally Mbenga. This was followed by a keynote address by The Acting Director General of GRTS, Mr. Malick Jones, who thanked  President Jammeh for setting the TV on satellite. He challenged others to emulate the host, Fatou Camara, while thanking the audience and the proud sponsor, Comium, for their commendable efforts in making the show a success.

Other artists who performed on stage includeD the city boys of Banjul, Slam G Clan, SuraSuso, Humanity Band,

Gee, JaliMadi, Viper, Bro K, Sidat and the special guest artist from Senegal, Ida Samb, respectively.

For her part, the woman behind the scene, Fatou Camara, heartily thanked the audience for what she described as their ‘genuine solidarity’. She said: “Four years ago, I was confronted with the challenge to introduce a distinctive show on GRTS Television. With sheer determination, with the support of so many people of goodwill, I was able to forge a viable partnership with GRTS that ushered in the Fatou Show.’’  The TV host lauded the Gambian leader for his personal encouragement, logistical, as well as material support. Fatou Camara recognized the vital contributions of the sponsor, Comium, in making the programme a reality while underlining the fruitfulness of their partnership in serving the Gambian people.
