The Marketing Manager of the national GSM operator, Gamcel, has advised the graduates of Bansang Upper Basic School to persevere in their pursuit for knowledge.

“Education is very important and fundamental to the success of any individual,” Ramou Nyass-Hydara said.

She was the Guest Speaker of the Gamcel-sponsored graduation ceremony of the school, as hundreds of students who completed a nine-year basic education programme were poised to pursue further education.

For Ramou, however, completion of grade nine was a pre-requisite to a lot of opportunities lying ahead for the graduating students.

“You have to be very mindful that this is perhaps only one step towards many steps that you have to face,” she added. “Therefore, this is only the beginning. Education is a means to an end. It provides you with a footing to excel in life. So I am urging you to never be tired to continue to seek knowledge. Exploit the opportunities that are available to you.

“What you need is passion, enthusiasm, and perseverance in pursuing your career. I can tell you the journey is not easy but I am urging you never stop until you get what you want, and continue to pursue your desired goals,” she said.

She further advised the teachers and parents to take the responsibility to support the female students, adding if you educate a woman, you educate a nation.
