Gambia Ports Authority FC have performed magnificently at the Serrekunda East mini stadium on Saturday earning a two nil victory over Steve Biko in week nine fixtures of GFA Division one league.
Hatab Badjie opened the scores in the 24th minute of first half for GPA, with a superb strike in the penalty area.
Alagy Fatajo came with the second goal in the 34th minute from a penalty spot for GPA following a handball on Abdou Jammeh in the penalty area.
GPA continued fighting in the first half with many goal scoring opportunities.
Steve Biko came out to attack in the second half of the game to score a goal, but GPA defensive line was very strong for them to penetrate.
“They fought very hard, we could have done better than this but I thank god,” said the head coach of the defending champions GPA, Peter Bonu Johnson.
He also said that he and his boys will keep on winning. He further revealed that they are set out to win Bakau United in their next game.
The disappointed assistant coach of Steve Biko, Babucarr Demba told this reporter that the problem begins in the first half of the match, adding that there was some technical problem at the defensive line, that was why everything went wrong and they did not perform up to the expectation.
He further said that his opponents stayed on their tactics whiles they failed to stay on theirs. He promised that they will come from the relegation zone.
