Buba Jallow`s brace against Young Africans on Sunday at the Banjul KG5 has helped Real de Banjul to win their 11th GFA League title, the first in five years in a remarkable comeback to the  2012 season after enduring a poor start.

Knowing that only the three points can guarantee them the title, Real did not make things easy for their neighbors, Young Africans who were only playing for pride, a brace from Buba Jallow and one from the season leading goal scorer Modou Njie Sarr in 32, 69 and in the 72 minutes, put the game behind the Young Africans, despite scoring a consolation through Yusupha Sarr in injury time.

Speaking to The Daily News Sports after the game, delighted Willy Abraham, the president of Real de Banjul said collective partnership within the management of the team lead to their triumph this season.

“At some point in the first round we were at the bottom of the table and we created a team that should not be at the bottom of the league. So in the second round we bounced back in style and here we are the champions,” he said.

For his part, Coach Alagie Sarr said: “Am very excited today, I can say through motivation and hard work we were able to win the league. As I always said in my previous interviews the team is in a three year build up which started last year, and this year we happened to win the league,” said coach Sarr.

Alagie Sarr is so far the most successful coach in the Gambian domestic league, winning titles in every team he coached except Sea view. He won three league titles for Wallidan from 2000-2005, one for The Gambia Ports Authority and one for Real De Banjul.

Sarr’s opponent Pa Samba Mbenga of Young Africans said the title winners, Real De Banjul
