Karate Course Wraps up at Serrekunda East

The Serrekunda east karate club in collaboration with the Gambia karate association this week ended a three day karate course for over forty five karate personnel from various karate clubs in the Gambia at the Serrekunda east conference hall.
On their move to develop the game in the Gambia, the Gambia karate federation considers it as timely to educate karate members on basic karate principles and skills.
Speaking to reporters after the training, Musa Coker the president of the Gambia karate association said the motive behind organizing such training is to develop martial arts such as Jujutsu, Zido and many others in the Gambia.
Mr. Coker however applauded the karate clubs for their interest and urged them to make best use of the knowledge gained. He further expressed optimism that Gambian karate will participate in the 2016 CAF Olympics and promised come that event they will emerge with flying colors.
Alieu Badara Camara, a facilitator from neighboring Senegal [Kaolack], commended the karate federation of the Gambia for their commitment to develop the game in the country.
Alieu Badara Camara a born Senegalese by a Gambian mother said he is always in the position to answer to the Gambia karate federation any time he is needed. There are very slim differences between Gambian karate and Senegalese karate but Senegal are not far much better than the Gambia in karate, said Camara.
 Badara Camara who has his own karate club in Kaolack, Senegal urged the karate masters to effectively train their karate members and later implored to the participants to exercise discipline as the game requires maximum level of discipline, he concluded.
Jainaba  Sanneh a participant from Dragon karate club described the training as timely and expressed optimism that the knowledge gained will create an impact in her karate career.’
“I love karate and I will continue loving it’, said Jainaba.
