Kebba Ceesay Delighted With Poznan Move![]() Wednesday, August 22, 2012 The Gambia international defender Kebba Ceesay has expressed his satisfaction after completing his signing with Polish Ekstaklasa top flight Lech Poznan. The defender completed the move from Swedish Allsvenskan side Djurgården IF on a four-year-deal, Lech Poznan official website can exclusively reveal. After signing his contract, Kebba said in an interview with his new club official’s website that he was very happy to join the Polish side. “I feel great so far to join a top club in Poland. I know it would be hard to break into the first team, but I am more than ready to give it a go,” he said. “There are good players in the club training and is a bit different from the way we trained in Sweden. It’s not that it will go fast all the time but the important thing is that everything is done with quality. We have good players and it’s definitely a step in the right direction for my career,” he added. Kebba is possibly the Gambia’s first player to ply his trade in the Polish Ekstraklasa and he is happy with that. He said, “I am happy to be the first player to come and play in Poland and I am hoping to impress in order to create avenue for my teammates to come and join in Poland.” Kebba joined Djurgården from IK Brage at the start of the 2007 season and made his Allsvenskan debut for Djurgården in the Stockholm derby against Hammarby IF on August 13, 2007. He usually plays as a right back even though he personally considers himself to be a central defender and hoping to plays in his favourite position in his new club. In November 2009, he visited English side Nott’s County F.C. for a trial but no transfer was made. The 5ft 10in defender marked his debut for Gambia against Namibia in 2010. Author: Omar Bah |
