Kunta Kinteh Wins KCYDA Debate Competition

Kunta Kinteh club under KCYDA last Sunday, emerged as winners of a debate competition organized by KCYDA in a bid to promote public speaking confidence of their members at the Saamasang Federation in Brikama Kabafita with the theme Gender Equality Is Not Attainable.

The debate which was highly contested by both Kunta Kinteh and Malcolm X, witnessed the showcasing of   different talents by the two groups  who all defended their arguments based on points before Kunta Kinteh narrowly wins by25 to 24 points.

The Chairperson, Ebrima Bojang again reiterated his organization commitment in promoting education at all categories, saying the competitors are drawn from UTG, Senior Secondary, Lower Basic and Upper schools as well.

“I can today raise my hands up and defend the organization because with the talents I have seen, will in doubt represent us at any level.”

Mariama Jammeh, who chaired the debate, described debate as showcasing ones talent in English proficiency. She said there was  no loser or  winner in the debate but it instead   aimed  at improving the status of the members.

Alieu Darboe and Jali Mamudou  Kuyateh all urged the competitors to redouble their efforts as they have manifested that they are worthy  ambassadors who can represent the organization at any forum. 

Similar remarks were echoed by Aji Fatou Kinneh Sanneh and Omar Kanyi .
