Medina Field Named after Seedy Kinteh

For the first time in the history a football pitch is named after The Gambia’s football supremo Seedy Kinteh, as the people of Medina Serigne Mass after their just concluded Njogu Bah’s sponsored on Saturday decided to name their football pitch after GFA’s President.
Speaking after the gesture, Seedy Kinteh thanked the entire village of Medina and the surrounding villages that were competing in the tournament for naming the pitch after him. He also commended Njogu Bah for choosing football as the right tool for bringing peace among the youths of the country and urged him to continue the good service he is rendering to the nation.
Seedy said football has been developing in the country for the past years and that for him it is a great achievement pertaining to Gambian football as the Gambia has registered a female team for international competition for the first time this year and with the under 17 wining the youth championship twice in the past years in 2005 and 2009 respectively.
“I discussed with the Sectary General Njogu Bah about plans of developing this field and football in this area as you may understand most of the current national team’s players are from the provinces”, he said.
He then promised to look forward to developing the standard of Medina’s new Seedy Kinteh Pitch as it is named after him.
