Momodou Sarr wins Modou Lowe Fans club wrestling contest

Momodou Sarr of Banjul has been crowned champion of the Modou Lowe fans club wrestling competition held at the Serrekunda East football park, which was part of the 47 years independence anniversary of the Republic of The Gambia.
Momodou Sarr defeated his opponent Mustapha Ndow of Bakau in the final which took them almost six minutes of struggle. According to organisers, the wrestling was organized to develop the young talented wrestlers in the country.
“This is first of its kind in the country, and I can assure you that we will continue with the good gesture that we have started,” Matarr president of Modou Low Fans Club
Speaking to this reporter the winner of the heavy weigh category Momodou Sarr said, he is excited at the victory, adding that he is just beginning and by the help of Allah he will continue as a wrestler.
His opponent Mustapha Ndow also made similar comments, adding that he is training and will continue to train in other to be good a wrestler.
A cash prize of four thousand Dalasi (D4, 000) was given to the winner, and one thousand five hundred Dalasi (D 1, 500) to the loser.
Yahya Sumareh also defeated Lamin Jeng in the light weight category and also received a cash prize of one thousand five hundred dalasi (D1, 500) and his opponent Lamin Jeng went home with one thousand Dalasi (D1, 000).
