The National Assembly member for Kombo North District Adama Cham’s sponsored tournament in Kombo North at the Labakoreh football ground reaches its climax, with the winner to be known on Saturday.
The well anticipated tournament’s final is slated for Saturday 28 January, 2012 between Mariama Kunda and Jamwelly F.C, the tournament which started few months ago is the first of its kind to be organised by the National Assembly member since his assumption in office in 2007.
On their way to the final, Mariama Kunda F.C came from back to defeat United F.C by 2-1 in a remarkable semi finals played at the Labakoreh football ground, amid cheer from their emotional fans.
Goals from Foday Gassama and Alieu Gibba were enough to overshadow United F.C’s Bakary Touray`s opener in the first half of the game.
For their Saturday opponents Jamwelly F.C, it was a bit rough for them to make way to the final as they settled their game against Sima F.C in a post match penalty kicks after playing a goalless draw for the regular 90 minutes, though they managed to win by 7-6 to pave their way to the final.
For the success of the tournament, the organising committees of the parliamentarian sponsored Nawettan are calling on all football lovers to come out and watch the final in a peaceful manner.
