Nema Fans Club Visits Wrestler Emeu Sene![]() Friday, July 20, 2012
The two delegates were the president of the Nema Fans club, Baboucarr Ceesay, and Ndey Wadda, the vice president. The duo spent two days with their wrestler, discussing issues ranging from the career of the wrestler, Emeu, to their fans club, among others. Emeu Sene bounced back to the heart of many Sene-Gambian wrestling fans after he defeated the current champion of Senegalese wrestler, Balla Gaye II, two years ago. Since then, he defeated Gris Bordeu of Fass before defeating Lac De Guerr. His fans are yearning to see him triumph over Balla Gaye II for the second time. Speaking to this paper after their return from Dakar, Ndey Wadda, the vice president of Emeu Sene-Nema Fans, said they were happy with the reception at Emeu’s residence. “We were received warmly, and later given good food, which we appreciated,” the female fans said. According to Wadda, Khadim, a brother of Emeu, who took them to the compound where their beloved wrestler Emeu resides, received them. “Emeu told us that he is a wrestler who is willing to fight anyone in the Senegalese arena. Therefore, he fears nobody. About Emeu’s anticipated combat with Balla Gaye II, Wadda said Emeu told them that the delay was on the side of Balla. “Emeu promised to visit the fans club and its members in the future,” she said. “We told him that we are planning to have a fund-raising event. He said we should inform him prior to the date and see what will happen.” On her final note, she urged people to come and register as members of their club, adding that the registration fee was D50, and a contribution of D10 per weekly meeting, every Saturday. “D50 is a membership card fee, and for a T-shirt, the fee is D125,” she concluded.
