Lucy memorial nursery school in new Jeshwang on Saturday 21st January 2012 inaugurated a new class room block in the school premises sponsored by John and Mary Reynolds from England.
The opening of the new classroom marked eighteen years of the nursery school since its inception in 1994.
“John and Mary started sponsoring the school since 2009.  It was one afternoon, after the school closed when the children were going home that John and Mary saw them and entered the school. We had a short discussion about the school and they decided to sponsor the children and from that day, they were doing as promised,” said Aunty Remey headmistress of the school.
She added that sixty-seven students are benefiting from the sponsorship among them, twenty-two are in the nursery level while the rest are in the lower basic.
“Last year we received a container of furniture, bicycles, wheelchairs, clothes, books amongst others.  Words can’t express our joy.  We are saying a big thank you to John and Mary,” she added.
John Reynolds said they would continue to help the school by all means possible.
The children also sang a song for the Liverpool Football Club and according to John, he would take the video and the pictures to the Liverpool Football Club for sponsors as soon as he got back to England.
