Dr Mariama Sarr has been appointed Friday as minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, information from the office of the president states. The higher education ministry, which was created in 2007, was first occupied by Mr. Crispin Grey-Johnson who was dismissed February 2009. The reason for his dismissal is yet to be known to the public. The ministry was moved to the office of the president until the appointment of Dr Tangara, who had a stint at the ministry before he was appointed Foreign Affairs minister. The higher education was again moved to the office of the president until last Friday December 1, 2010, when Dr Mariama Sarr, who we are yet to gather information about, take-up the position.
