Tuesday, August 21, 2012
After conquering all their elimination games played during the 2012/13 Brikama Youth and Sports Committee qualifications, Newtown FC were on groundwork ahead of the new season, slated to kick off immediately after the Ramadan.
According to the team’s instructor, Sarjo Sanyang, they were very delighted to make a comeback after relegation from the previous competition.
He said the team was putting all mechanisms in place to avoid any delay, saying that the 2012/13 Brikama Nawettan proper would be highly contested, as the calibers of teams involved were very focused.
He said football was all about early preparations, noting that they were still on their normal training sessions in order for the players to be fully fit.
Instructor Sanyang further noted that they would be focusing very attentively on all their games in order to avoid a replica of the previous season attesting that the relegation has indeed impacted on them negatively.
He commended the players, fans and the management for giving their best to the team, promising that they would collaborate with the technical department   to give silver to the team, come next season, while calling on their fans as well as players and the officials to still maintain their zero-tolerance to any forms of indiscipline.
