Opposition Negotiations Deadlocked

africa » gambia
Friday, January 07, 2011

Dear Mr. Editor,

Please allow me to express my deep concern to the continuous disagreements
between the opposition supporters who are sincerely trying hard to defeat the
APRC government.
First, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. While the opposition supporters have every right to agree and to disagree, I am afraid that our continuous disagreements on how to have a UNITED OPPOSITION will indeed yield a victory for the APRC government.  History has it that the Gambian opposition can NEVER agree to have one captain to lead a ship.  This is so sad.  As an opposition member, I hereby appeal to all the opposition members to sincerely research the negative effects that a failure of a UNITED
OPPOSITION would do to the Gambian nation.
I like Hon. Hamat Bah’s call for a national conference.  In conclusion, please
remember that the Gambia is a captured nation.

Sincerely,
Dr. Lamine J. Conteh
Raleigh, NC
