Player Profile: Sainey Jatta

Interior Football Club’s Starlet, Sainey Jatta, who dreamt of playing his country, The Gambia, in the future, was born to Gambian parents In the Village of Brufut, Kombo North, in West Coast Region.
Jatta started his footbaling career at his teenage age while going to primary School in Brufut Primary, where he was featuring in the school team, before joining Saint Francis Junior and Senior Secondary School, which he also played for.
Jatta played his first senior game in the Brufut Nawettan for Lucka FC as a teenager, and was part of the players recommended for their outstanding performance in recent Nawettan in Brufut.
After his stunning performance in the final in his last outing with Lucka FC he was spotted by Sang Ndong’s Hawks where he established himself as a first team player. After an outstanding season with Hawks, he went on to join Sait Marty in the 2006-2007 GFA football season.
The young talented player is currently playing his trade with Ebrima Manneh`s Interior FC, which was recently defeated in the FA cup final by Gamtel FC.
Though, his side was second best to Gamtel in the FA cup, but they gained promotion to the top flight of Gambian Football.
Speaking to this paper, Jatta said his dream is to play for The Gambia in the future.  
“I would love to wear The Gambian colors one today if the opportunity comes,” the young player said.
