Samger Defeat Serrekunda East

In the ongoing pre-season tourney Samger FC collected their maximum six points out of two games after beating Serrekunda East by a lone goal scored by Alieu Ceesay at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Monday 28th February, 2011.
The first forty-five ended goalless where both teams had many goal scoring chances but couldn’t utilize them. It was an entertaining and skillful football on both sides.
Coming into second half Samger came with full force to make sure they deliver a goal. Bakary Jaiteh, just two minute into second half had a wonderful shot at the edge of the 18 yard box, but goalkeeper Muhammed Camara of Serrekunda saved his side.
Alieu Ceesay’s extra minute goal separated the two sides, a skillful player scoring his first goal for Samger, which gave them the victory.
Talking to this paper shortly after the match, Jane Joof the head coach of Samger said “it’s a very good match, this is not the exact team that’s going to play the league, majority of them are new faces.”Coach Jane Joof also acknowledged that the tournament is very significant to his side, adding that playing for Samger is not easy.
Meanwhile his opponent Nyanga Sarr the coach of Serrekunda East said he was not disappointed with his team’ team performance, “they played a good football, we are just unlucky.”
 On Sunday 27 ,2011 Latrikunda Utd drew one all with Nema Utd, goal scored by Gaston Gasper Mendy for Latrikunda Utd in the first hakf while an equalizer came in the second half cutesy of Modou Jallow for Nema Utd; the second match was between Interior FC and Flemings which ended one nil in favor of Interior FC Scored by Omar Sanyang in the second half through a penalty .
