The Serrekunda West Sports Development Organization (SWSDO) is currently holding talks with The Gambia Referee Association for what the committee describes as a heavy load levied on them.

The meeting came on the heels of the referees’ demand for hundred percent increases for officiating all the upcoming Nawettan qualifying games at the Serrekunda West.

Speaking to The Daily News Sports on Thursday, the Public Relation Officer for the (SWSDO), Bai Ndongo Drammeh, said his organization was currently holding talks with the referees’ association to reach an agreement for the betterment of the game.

“Referees came with a very heavy demand which I think will not help our game,” said Bai Ndongo. The committee’s spokesperson further revealed that the Serrekunda West Sports Committee would do everything possible to have qualified referees that would officiate the upcoming Nawettan qualify round.

He later reminded the Gambian referees that officiating Nawettan games earned them a FIFA badge on their arms. He finally expressed optimism that his committee would reach a unanimous agreement with the referees’ association.
