SJAG Opens Office Today

The Sports Journalist Association of the Gambia (SJAG) will today officially inaugurate its office at the office of the Media Agenda/Daily News. The management of Media Agenda have agreed to host the sports journalists’ association whose priority has been to secure a secretariat Madi M.K. Ceesay, Director of Media Agenda and Publisher of Daily News Paper told this reporter in his office that his organisation was established to help the development of media in general in the Gambia. On why must he reduce the size of the Newspaper’s conference room, Mr. Ceesay says "we must able to share our space with other media institutions no matter how small it is. And the sports journalists are our important partners". He added that "we are not donors but we will help the forward growth of the media in our own little ways".It could be recalled that the move towards securing an office space was one of the top agendas of the new executive of the sports journalists following their election into office.The President of the association, Sainabou Kujabi who is the Sports Editor of the Point Newspaper made it known to media chief during familiarisation tour to media institutions. She said it is necessary for them to have an office space where to conduct most of their official duties.
