Friday, September 14, 2012
Momodou Krubally, commonly known as Lull Raa, was born in Basse and brought up in Tallinding. He attended St. Augustine Junior School from where he later went to Nusrat for his senior school education.
Having been writing songs when he was in school, Lull Raa decided to fully concentrate on his music career, a move which saw him being enrolled at High Tech and State of Mic. He further went to Senegal in 2008 to amplify his knowledge in media-related work. After returning home months later, he started going to live shows to record on video and post them on his page on YouTube.
He recorded one of his popular tune called `no time` in ghetto boy studio and did the video production by himself in 2009. This avails him the platform to show up himself as an artist and a producer. He is managed by Modou Lamin Badjie, the CEO of the Ultimate Multimedia.
Speaking to The Daily News Entertainment at the Ultimate Media, Lull Raa, 27, said he was inspired by different artists at home and abroad. He revealed that Mighty Joe is his favourite Gambian artist but added that he was mainly inspired into the music scene by Dancehall Masters.
He described music as an establishment, saying it goes in for money and not for the sake of tradition.
The dancehall star is currently working on his first DVD mix tape which will hit the screens anytime soon.
“I am working on my DVD mix tape and it will be coming out soon. For all those who love watching videos, it’s high time you got ready for it because it’s going to be interesting,” he concludes.
