[if gte mso 9]> Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Tallinding Lower Basic School on Monday played host to a day-long consultation on the weird drama that has been unfolding at school.

In the past few weeks, female students have been fainting at the school under mysterious circumstances believed to have been casued by evil spirits.

The incident followed similar developments at Ming Ndaw Upper and Senior Secondary School in Farato village where lessons were interrupted for over a week.

“Some marrabouts gave an indication that we should sacrifice a cow and some cola nuts as charity,” Mr Pa SorrydingSanneh, the chairman of the elders of Tallinding community has informed the gathering which comprises community elders, parents, teachers, imam association and representatives from child advocacy group, CPA.

He revealed further that, the holy Quran should be recited every Friday at the school inorder to rid the school of evil spirits tormenting students.

To this end, the meeting resolved that every elder in that community should contribute at least D200 and each student D2 to raise funds.

But convinced that may be inaquate, MrFabakarryBadjie who represented the alkalo(village head) said that they need the intervention of phillantropists and government.

He decried that the development has caused panic in the community, as some are exaggerating the problem to an extent that some parents have withdrawn their childrens from school and transferring them to other schools.
