I am a 56 year old Christian, one time General Secretary of The Gambia Christian Council, and highly educated in the UK who believed in western values. It is with the deepest sadness and grief that I’m writing this article to all peoples of the world who choose to read it.

First of all, it is now clear to me that the Western Powers who call themselves ‘Allied Forces’ are not Christians but Medieval Western Crusaders who would not hesitate to massacre people to achieve their hidden, mischievous, and cowardly agendas. It is clear that these crusaders are not interested in protecting Libyans but their Oil, and to take revenge for Gaddafi’s past sins on the West (and not on the Libyan people), and the fear they have of Gaddafi should he remain in power. It is ironic that this is how Gaddafi is rewarded for giving up his ambition to acquire nuclear weapons: Who then will want to give up or ambitions to acquire nuclear weapons? Certainly not Iran or North Korea.

One disappointment is black President Obama, the winner of the most prestigious and coveted Nobel Peace Prize: He has just demonstrated that it was a mistake to award him the Nobel Peace Prize because he has failed to negotiate peace without the barrel of the gun in Libya: Just like Bush (the bush cowboy) who with his Medieval Western Crusaders thought that peace could be achieved in Baghdad by bombing Iraq. Paying back evil for evil has never worked in the past and will never work today or in the future to restore peace.

Blessed are the Peace makers for they shall be called Children of God: Yes, not War Makers who torture & cripple their opponents, and then leave them at the mercy of wolves and foxes. Christians are Children of God (Peace Makers): It therefore follows that war makers like the allied forces are not Christians but medieval western crusaders.

The true heroes and honest peacemakers are the African Union who were sidelined and maginalised at all stages of the rushed UN resolution. Russia, China and Germany could be likened to Pontius Pilate, washing their hands to cleanse them from the massacre of the Libyans. They knew and understood what ‘all necessary measures …’ meant (even more than the African Union or Arab League), yet still they deliberately abstained and withheld their veto.

In conclusion, it is sad that the medieval western crusaders have just unleashed another level of violence and insecurity in the world. Its consequences will be felt far beyond their territories. Then the scapegoat will be ‘Terrorism’. When shall this cycle end?
