The newly promoted Young Africans collected their first three points in the GFA week four fixtures on Saturday against the communication giants, Africell FC at the Serrekunda East mini stadium after winning the game to a goal to nil.
The game was dominated by Africell FC in the first half encounter with many goal scoring opportunities but they were unlucky to hit the post. Africell, who only win one game and lost three in four games suffered again this time in the hands of Young Africans.
Many chances were created by both sides but none of the two teams could manage to score paving the first half with a goalless draw.
Outstanding Sarjo Janko opened the scores for Young Africans in the 69th minute of second half, after benefiting from Saidou Badjie’s cross.  Africell then were left with no option but to struggle for an equalizer only to be given tough time by Young Africans defenders.
After the game ended in 1-0 in Favor of Young Africans, Africell’s Coach Landing Sanneh expressed disappointment with his team’s performance.  “I was not expecting to lose, we came to collect points, and they disappointed me,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sulayman Corr, the head coach of Young Africans acted excitedly. “I’m very happy to collect my first three points.” Sulayman Corr also told the reporters that he will be well prepared against his former team, Gamtel in their next game at the Box Bar mini stadium in Brikama.
In similar fixtures, Gamtel FC also collected their first three points against the league leaders Bakau Utd who suffered from their first defeat at Banjul KG5 mini stadium where Ali Sowe scored.
